Woleyatina means "that's why" in Mandinka.

 I'm convinced that asking many "why" questions will enable me to better understand and help my host community. Anti-nausea medication does not treat the underlying cause of illness; it only mitigates the symptoms. In the same way, trying to fix a problem at a superficial level isn't sustainable in the long term.

 I want to hear this phrase, "woleyatina", many times over the next two years.

My greatest hope is to collaborate with a wide diversity of individuals. For me, PC is all about exchange. I'm not here to tell people what do do. As a health PCT in Senegal, I too have a lot to learn.

I'm an anthropology major, so I'm going to be taking a very analytical approach to my work here. Expect to find a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods, tallied results, pictures, and resources.
